Sengei’s Quiet Man
Duke was our all-weather guy, literally and figuratively. Rain and snow did not phase him when the other dogs refused to wet even a toe in the rain. He enjoyed training in the obedience ring, but when it came to trial time, he could become a bit flustered. I recalled him once during a trial and he fronted beautifully. When I gave him the well-practiced command to heel, however, he looked up at me in a moment of complete confusion, turned around twice and laid down at my feet.
